DeWayne Nicolas was born on December 12 to Paul and Linda Nicolas. DeWayne was born into a family that was dominated by men. In the Nicolas family, the men were proud, responsible, and like to be the best. This tradition was started with DeWayne's great-great grandfather, Cilas Nicolas. The men in the Nicolas family were groomed to be well-dressed, outstanding men in the community, and DeWayne was raised in that tradition as well.

DeWayne had the distinction of being one of the coolest male Nicolas' in the family. At a young age, he decided that he wanted to stand out from all of the other men in the family, which was hard to do. DeWayne kept up with all the latest styles, fads, and trends. DeWayne is also a gifted drummer. DeWayne played for several bands including the Funk Kings. DeWayne soon gained a reputation of being the coolest man in the Nicolas family. Women would often flock around DeWayne, but DeWayne had been trained that you should only have one woman at a time and that you should not get involved with too many women. He was good at resisting temptation.

In 1984, DeWayne met Sheronda Nicolas. Sheronda was a college student attending medical school. She was studying to become a psychologist. In 1985, the two were married.

At the present, DeWayne is an executive at an advertising agency that he and several friends started in 1980.
